"Ancient" GW mini labeled "monster" from 1987. Picked this up in 1990 before I even knew what GW was. Now he's being used as a champion for one of my zombie units.
Zombie Standard Bearer. Looks like this Empire unit was destined to be undead...
The Corpse Cart. Hands down the biggest pain in the arse to both assemble and paint. I wanted to get 3 of these for my army, but I don't have the stomach for another one yet. Bring out your dead!!
ZOMBIES!! This horde of zombies is a kit-bash of zombies and Empire soldiers. In Count Zombay's earlier days of practicing necromancy a few zombies got loose and began to eat the brains of the local peasants. To convince the locals he had nothing to do with the zomibe attacks, Count Zombay summoned units of Imperial troops from Averland to cleanse the local countryside of the undead. The regiments were ambushed and quickly added to the ranks of the horde. Muahahaha!
Zombie unit fillers. Nothing is more tedious than building/painting 60 zombies, so here are some unti fillers to give them more character. On the left, a poor Imperial soldier was clearing out the graveyard when hands from the earth began to drag him down and dismember his body. On the right, a lone living (or un-undead) soldier attempts to fight his way out of the zombie graveyard. He'll end up being a tasty brain-sandwich too!
These creepy ghouls were a fun break from the regular black/yellow/green paint scheme of the army. I also used so many different combos of paint that I forgot how to repeat any scheme, so that's also why they're all different. These ghouls usually roam Averland in some family units, occassionally eating peasants when they can't find any corpses to eat. When the Count raises the army for war, this unit of ghouls usually shows up uninvited.
Ghoul unit fillers, the perfect way to stretch 20 ghouls into 25 ghouls. On the left, a poor peasant farmer is ambushed by the ghouls, and one particularly excited ghouls is preparing to rip his face off. On the right, an "alpha male" ghould protects his kill from the other jackals of the tribe.
